As announced on last week’s Dune Talk show, members of the Dune News Net staff will be present at FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention. 2022’s event is taking place, in-person, at the Salt Palace Convention Center, on September 22-24.
We’ll be hosting two Dune panels (details below) and—throughout all three days of the convention—Garin Granata, Marcus Gabriel, and Simon Daoudi are looking forward to meeting attendees at our booth, D200. If you’re at FanX Salt Lake, stop by anytime to talk all topics Dune and check out some of the latest books, comics, games, and more.
We’ll also be running a giveaway, featuring some of those excellent Dune products, courtesy of the generous folks at Abrams Books, BOOM! Studios, Funcom, Gale Force 9, and Tor Books.
Dune Panel Schedule
All convention attendees are welcome to attend the Dune panels at Fanx Salt Lake. Our first panel, Friday at noon, will focus on the new movies—both 2021’s Oscar Award-winning Dune: Part One and its hotly-anticipated second half, scheduled for release in November 2023.

Join the Dune News Net team as we dive into Denis Villeneuve’s cinematic adaptation of the best-selling sci-fi novel of all time. We’ll discuss how Frank Herbert’s rich story, long considered “unfilmable”, was translated for the big screen—as well as aspects that didn’t make final cut. Then it’s time to get hyped for Dune: Part Two! We break down everything known so far, including latest insights and rumors from the production.
Then, on Saturday we’ll kickoff the evening with an exploration of Dune‘s “expanded universe”. A lot of media has been released over the past few years—from the Sands of Dune collection of novellas to the new real-time strategy video game, Dune: Spice Wars—and there literally is something for everyone.

Both of the above Dune panels will be moderated by Christian Lambert. We’ll keep this article updated, in case of any scheduling changes. Note that space in the rooms is limited and seating will be first come, first served.
