Dune fans can bring home a key piece of the battle for Arrakis with a new die-cast model of the Ornithopter, the iconic flying vehicle that controlled the desert skies, as seen in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune movies. This scale model draws directly from the original concept designs used by the VFX team, delivering spot-on accuracy.
Displayed in flight mode, with landing gear retracted and weapons extended, this ornithopter model features a wingspan just shy of two feet and measures 10.5 inches from nose to tail. It arrives fully assembled and painted, ready for display.
Ornithopters make frequent appearances throughout Frank Herbert’s original Dune novels. The movies’ art team created distinct versions for House Atreides and House Harkonnen, with the latter version being heavily armed. The design captures the craft soaring over the Arrakeen desert, raining terror on the Fremen and any foes standing against the Harkonnens.
